Hydrogen Generation Plant
Hydrogen generation by means of methanol Reforming
Methanol reforming is a process for generation of synthesis gas, a mixture of CO and hydrogen. By the water-gas-shift reaction (CO-shift) most of the CO reacts with the remaining steam to CO2 and hydrogen. For that purpose methanol will be mixed with water in a correct ratio and will be reformed at approx. 270°C in a reactor. This process is used in the Mahler HYDROFORM-M plants together with the separate purification step, the PSA-process, for the hydrogen generation.
